Summary

Joe Brown hit two free throws with 1 second left in overtime to give Lakeside (Idaho) an 85-84 win over Newport in the opening game of the Priest River tournament. Brown drew a loose-ball foul with Newport protecting an 84-83 lead. Newport's Jeron Konkright, who scored 43 points for the second time this season, hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation to force OT. Konkright finished with four 3-pointers and shot 15 of 17 from the line. Doug Schatz led the Knights with 27 points. Newport will play in today's consolation at 4 p.m. against the loser between Selkirk and the host Spartans. Lakeside will meet the winner at 7:45 in the title game.
