Chandler Smith scored a team-high 15 points and added 15 rebounds and Brewster (24-3) used a 6-0 run to start the fourth quarter and a 4-0 run to finish it to edge White Swan (20-7) 51-47 to take fourth place in the State 2B tournament.
Becky Mae Taylor scored 10 of her 12 points in the first quarter to help the Bears take a 15-9 lead through one quarter, but White Swan answered in the second to take a one-point lead into halftime.
Miami VanPelt scored 20 points, including going 4 of 8 from 3-point range, to lad the Cougars back from an eight-point deficit. And through three quarters, both teams were even at 37-37.
The difference was a six-point run by the Bears in the fourth as Taylor scored the last two of her 12 points to spark the run. Smith, who had just four in the first half, was crucial in the fourth quarter, scoring the bulk of her 11 second-half points. She went 5 of 7 from the free throw line in the fourth.
Kassie Espindola added 13 points and 12 rebounds for White Swan in the loss. Carlee Jarrell chipped in 10 rebounds for the Bears, who outrebounded the Cougars 55-39 in the contest, getting 22 offensive boards.
