Summary

Following the MRL Hawks making their first run of the game in the third quarter, the Blackhawks of Lummi responded with eight consecutive points to start the fourth quarter, pulling away to earn their first tournament win.

Tony Rivera scored nine of his 19 points after the half to keep Lummi out front, despite the hot hand of MRL's Carsten Neumiller. Neumiller hit 5 of his first 7 3-point attempts and scored 17 points, helping the Hawks get within three with a minute left in the third.

The Hawks would get no closer, though, as the Blackhawks went on their own run to push the lead back to double digits. Jeremy Roberts finished with 15 points and five rebounds for the Blackhawks and Deion Hoskins' 3-pointer with 3:34 left spelled the end for MLR.

David Greenwood added eight points for the Hawks. Hoskins finished with seven points and seven boards for the Blackhawks, who play at 9:30 a.m. Saturday
