Summary

After scoring just four points in the opening half, junior Brandon Kohler caught fire, scoring 14 of his 18 points after the break and adding five assists to help keep the Raiders out front against the Cardinals in their elimination game.

Kohler helped fill the scoring void left by Ty Egbert, who scored eight points in the first half, but added just one in the second, not scoring a field goal after the opening quarter. Egbert was still a defensive force for the Raiders, tallying 12 rebounds and nine blocks.

Kohler and Egbert helped to hold off a determined Waitsburg-Prescott team that rallied from a seven-point deficit to tie the game at 38 with 20 seconds left in the third quarter. Kohler responded with a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Raiders the lead for good.

In the fourth, the Cardinals got within one twice, but Kohler assisted on 3-point shots from Keith Rosenbaum and Kramer Carlson to push the lead to eight, where it would stay the rest of the game.

The Cardinals were led by Zach Bartlow's 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. LR will play La Conner in the fourth place game Saturday at 8 a.m.
