Summary

Colton 83, Columbia Adventist 55

You could say that Colton "Straughan-armed" Columbia Adventist in handing them their first loss of the year.. Hot shooting Colton freshman Jake Straughan, playing with a calm that belied his years, hit all five 3-pointers he took in the first half, and junior brother Josh added three 3-pointers and took it to the hoop as the duo divided 30 of Colton's 49 points between them.

Their shooting also opened things up for 6-foot-6 Dustin Patchen, who ruled the paint and scored 16 points himself.

Colton (18-8) scored a whopping 29 points and led by 21 points after a quarter.

The game never got much closer despite the efforts of Columbia Adventists's perpetual motion machine Tevita Palaki who scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.

Jake Straughan would finish with eight 3-pointers for all of his 24 points. He and his brother would combined for 39 of Colton's 83 points and Patchen added 20 more, plus 10 rebounds. :"I just think I came out here and relaxed," said Jake. "It was probably one of the best 3-point shooting nights I've had in my life."
