Summary

Krista Colvin notched 16 points and five steals and for the second time Thursday, the record for lowest points in a game was broken, as the Columbia Lions (27-2) held the Lopez Lobos (11-10) to just nine points, keeping them scoreless in the second and fourth quarters. The Lions forced 35 turnovers in the game, outscoring Lopez off turnovers 31-2.

Lindesy Loe added seven points and seven rebounds and Julie Ann Larrew had eight points for Columbia, which moves on to the state semifinals, awaiting a rematch of the District 7 title game against Almira/Coulee-Hartline.

For the Lobos, the loss moves them into the state record books, though not in the way they would like. Their nine-point effort was two points lower than Mary M. Knight, which scored just 11 in its loss to Sunnyside Christian.
