Pat Thompson was Spokane's first female prosecutor. In July 1978, the Spokane County Prosecutor's Office offered her a job and Thompson said he found her calling. She did experience a fair amount of sexism though. Thompson was assigned to the South Hill serial rapist case. She appeared in a front page picture in the Spokane Chronicle, Feb. 13, 1985, after the second Kevin Coe trial in Seattle.
