Shown as it looks from the tennis courts is the first level of the new Spokane Racquet Club in 1963. Clubhouse off Seventeenth two blocks east of Havana. It has a lounge, men's and women's locker rooms, a fireplace and other facilities. A concrete patio in front of the clubhouse was completed recently and a parking area has been graded behind the clubhouse.

“I gave up tennis at 90, but I still volunteer there,” said John Happy, 91. Happy was instrumental in founding Spokane Racquet Club. He spent a long career in the insurance industry and now spends his days caring for the roses on the Rockwood campus.
