Spokane Chiefs' fans toss thousands of teddy bears for kids
Fans of all ages hurled 5,175 teddy bears and other stuffed animals of all shapes, colors and sizes onto the ice after Chiefs’ right wing Yannick Proske netted a goal to put the Chiefs up 1-0 with 1:55 left in the first period.

Thousands of stuffed toys are thrown onto the ice after Spokane Chiefs forward Yannick Proske (27) scored the first goal of the night trigging the annual teddy bear toss during the first period of a WHL hockey match with Seattle, Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in the Spokane Arena. The stuffed toys and bears will be donated on Monday to the Christmas Bureau and given to needy families.
