Kira Boustead, center, of Vallejo, Califonira, speeds through the second banked turn on the heels of Jacy Moore, right, of Port Orchard, Washington in the 15- and 16-year-old expert category race Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021 at the BMX track at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane, Washington. Moments later, when it looked like Moore had the race well in hand, she crashed one the final straightaway and Boustead was able to slip past her for the win. The Lumberjack Nationals, which drew hundreds of riders from around the western states for three days of racing in categories from novice to expert and from ages three to over 70 years old, was brought to Spokane by the organization USA BMX.
