Five-year-old Harrison Flaherty, right, with sister Campbell, 2, and father Brian Flaherty get excited to see approaching runners and walkers who were participating in the annual Turkey Trot, Thursday, Nov. 25, 2020, in front of their home on Manito Boulevard. The annual Thanksgiving Day fun run was made virtual so that participants could run any day at any venue a runner chooses, but hundreds showed up on the traditional time at Manito Park in Spokane. Brian Flaherty said it was his family’s first year living on Manito Boulevard. “This is why we live here,” he said of the passing throng. Harrison shouted “Happy Thanksgiving” to passing runners.
