Spokane Food Fighters

Projects to get food to the homebound -- while also giving local restaurants a little support -- have provided thousands of meals to needy people during the pandemic. A couple of these projects sprung up right in the aftermath of the stay-home order. Spokane Food Fighters, which delivers both restaurant-cooked meals and food banks staples to families who need them, involves local business donors, individuals, volunteers and a crew of regulars delivering food six days a week. It was the brainchild of Marcus Riccelli, who is frequently there in the No-Li brewery parking lot in the afternoons, masked and greeting the line of volunteers in their cars.
