
The Salvation Army Burst-A-Bus campaign
Joshua Shulz of The Salvation Army and other staff and volunteers were collecting school supplies and backpack donations for their annual backpack giveaway outside the Fred Meyer store at 400 S. Thor St.. The Salvation Army hopes to give away around 4000 backpacks with school supplies at a drive-through distribution August 12 at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. Salvation Army staff will be seeking more donations at the Spokane Valley Fred Meyer Thursday from 9-6 and at the Wandermere Fred Meyer store Friday and Saturday. Local Cenex stores also collect donations for the annual drive.
