Hangman Valley Golf Course

Spokane City and County are pursuing changing Hangman Valley Golf Course name.The local golf course is named for when the U.S. Army executed local Indian leaders by hanging in 1858.

The Hangman Valley Golf Course, owned by Spokane County and shown Monday, July 13, 2020 is named for when the U.S. Army executed local Indian leaders by hanging in 1858. Though the area is officially called Latah Creek, the Hangman name has stuck.
