Police chase robbery suspect to roof

A robbery suspect, later identified as a suspected violator of a protection order, stands on roof of 24 Taps Burgers and Brews on Riverside Avenue and and refuses to surrender Wednesday, July 15, 2020. He eventually surrendered and was brought down to ground level with a fire department “tower” truck.

A police dog, which followed the handler up a fire department ladder truck, gingerly comes back down the ladder after the suspect on top of the 24 Burgers and Brews restaurant, at the corner of Lincoln Street and Riverside Avenue, was taken into custody, Wednesday, July 15, 2020. The suspect, in both a robbery and a protection order violation, climbed the restaurant and refused come down until Spokane Police officers used the ladder truck to get to the roof.
