As of Friday’s vote count, turnout in the city primary was about 33%, although as this map shows, it varied widely across Spokane, with many of the lightest voting precincts in the Northeast Council District 1.

The race for Spokane mayor tightened slightly as a result of Friday’s vote count. Former television anchor Nadine Woodward still leads with just over 40% of the vote citywide, but City Council President Ben Stuckart closed the gap with nearly 38%, with strong showings in some heavy voting precincts.
Spokane City Councilman Mike Fagan captured his Northeast council district in the primary for council president, but that wasn’t enough to put him in the general election as Breean Beggs and Cindy Wendle won precincts with more voters and higher turnout.
