Spokane Police officer Ben Maplethorpe confirms to the family and friends of the owner of a crashed car pulled from the Spokane River that there was a deceased person inside the white Ford Edge after it was pulled from the water Friday, June 1, 2018. The car had crashed into the river late on April 21, but recovery was hampered by high and fast running water. Maplethorpe stopped short of making an official confirmation of identity.
