Carnahan home
The home at 729 S. Carnahan had at least eight cars crash into the yard/home/etc. causing thousands of dollars in damage. Spokane Valley is planning to purchase either a portion of the land or the whole house for more than $300,000 to make way for future intersection improvements.

Mike Yarbroughs house and side yard, upper right, has been the landing zone for numerous inattentive or impaired drivers who have failed to stop at 8th Ave. and crashed into his property at the bottom of the Carnahan Dr. hill, above. After many crashes there, the city of Spokane Valley placed jersey barriers on the corner, but has recently agreed to buy Yarbroughs property. Proposed plans include using the property for a roundabout which could facilitate traffic flow at the busy intersection. Shown Friday, June 22, 2018. Jesse Tinsley/THE SPOKESMAN-REVIEW

Jersey barriers are still stacked around corner of Carnahan Dr. and 8th Ave. to protect the yard of Michael Yarbrough which has seen more than eight crashes when errant drivers dont make adjustment for the misalignment of Carnahan as they cross 8th Ave. in Spokane Valley. The city of Spokane Valley is preparing to buy out the Yarbroughs and use their land for a future roundabout for the busy suburban intersection that brings increasing traffic up and down the east end of the South Hill.
