This mountain of backpacks is one of many from the Salvation Army backpack distribution on Aug. 15, 2018, ready to be given to students in Spokane County by volunteers from many local organizations. The event was made possible by monetary contributions from Washington Trust Bank, Banner Bank and a $50,000 check from Cenex alongside scores of volunteers from local companies for the accompanying resource fair.
