Neighborhood spirit abounds at annual Fourth of July parade on Spokane’s South Hill

A spunky parade that starts at 10 a.m. every July 4 at Wall and Lincoln on Spokane’s South Hill is small enough to take timeouts for lemonade.

Don and Zeke Burge displayed 48-star American flags on their home on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Their home is along the neighborhood’s annual Fourth of July parade near Cliff Park. Don Burge said the flags originally flew on The Spokesman-Review tower building in downtown Spokane. He purchased them about 20 years ago at an auction.
