Corppetts named Lilac Queen

This is the first year that the usual 14 candidates for the Lilac Festival Queen were reduced to the seven members of the court, taking away a bit of the drama out of the annual coronation ceremony. But it was still a climax as August Corppetts of Gonzaga Prep was annouanced as the 2017 Lilac Festival Queen Sunday night at Shadle Park High School. The other six candidates became the court's princesses.
