Churches throw Halloween events

Churches around the region, knowing that Halloween is on a Monday this year, threw costume parties to extend the holiday fun for kids. Some, like Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Northwest Spokane, put on a Trunk or Treat carnival, with booths set up in the backs of cars, vans and trucks. The Spokane Valley Seventh-Day Adventist School put on a "country carnival" with games and candy prizes.
