Seven Devils Loop hike

The Seven Devils Mountains are the lake-studded pinnacle of the Hells Canyon Wilderness rising above the Snake River to the west and the Salmon River near Riggins, Idaho, on the east. While his feature story provides the details, Outdoors editor Rich Landers assembled this visual tour of the hiking and fishing he and his daughter enjoyed in July as they explored the 28-mile Seven Devils Loop around the core peaks and lakes. The photos follow their counterclockwise route around the loop, which combines Trails 124 and 101 from Windy Saddle Trailhead above Riggins. The photos also show areas off the loop accessed by spur trails or bushwhacking away from the beaten path.
