Cut the fabric following the instructions on this diagram.

First, make the straps. Sew the wrong sides together, leaving one of the short sides open. Turn the straps right side out, then press with a hot iron. Set aside.

Sew the side ties to the bodice piece so you have one piece of fabric that's 18 inches wide by about 103 inches long. Hem all sides of this piece.

Now, hem the two short sides and one long side of the skirt. Then, with your sewing machine set to a long stitch length, sew about 1/2 inch from the top of the raw edge. Pull that thread to gather the skirt top until it is 22 inches long.

It's now time to assemble the apron. Place the skirt on the floor, wrong side down. Place the straps on top of the skirt, right side down. The straps should have an 11-inch gap between them.

-
Center the bodice piece, right side down, on top of the other pieces.
Megan Cooley
-
Pin all three layers together, then sew across them. Twice.

-
This is how your finished apron looks.

-
Tie the straps around your neck.
Megan Cooley
-
Wrap the bodice piece around you, crisscrossing it in back, then bring the ends to the front again. Tie a double knot in front.

There you have it! Enjoy!
