Wu assembled his helicopter with a 150cc motorbike's engine, a steel cage, and wooden rotor blades. Later, the local government stopped the flight for safety issues.

Bidegorry and his 11-man crew crossed in 3 days, 15 hours, 25 minutes, 48 seconds, reaching the southernmost point on the British mainland on Sunday. The previous record of 4 days, 3 hours, 57 minutes, 54 seconds was set in July 2007 by French skipper Franck Cammas.
