Pardon Me: A statistical breakdown of the presidential pardon

President Joe Biden on Sunday pardoned his son, Hunter, who was scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 12 on federal gun charges and on Dec. 16 on charges of tax evasion. Biden had previously pledged he would not pardon his son or commute his sentence.

The pardon covers both convictions, plus any other “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.”
