Earned bachelor’s degree in Home and Family Life from the University of Washington, Master’s in education from Whitworth, earned superintendent certification from Washington State University.
Work experience: Taught at South Pines, McDonald, Opportunity and Sunrise elementary schools. Worked as an assistant principal and K-12 director in Central Valley School District. Served as superintendent of Newport School District and in administration at Educational Service District 101.
Political experience: First run for office.

Work Experience: Mechanical Engineer at Chinook Technologies, Itronix-General Dynamics, Dixon Pumps, Consultant and. CEO of Nexen, Inc. since 2001.
Political Experience: First run for office.
Family: Single. In the process of adopting two foster sons who attend Central Valley schools.
