Political Experience: Elected to two six-year terms as a fire commissioner in Spokane County Fire District 9. Last elected in 2017.

Work Experience: Formed McGarry Law Office in 1998, focused on housing law.

Family: Married

Campaign finance: Raised nearly $127,000 as of Oct. 6, according to the Washington Public Disclosure Commission. Of that, the House Democratic Campaign Committee contributed $75,000. Other top contributors include himself, the Washington State Democrats and Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 44 union in Spokane.
