A candidate for Cheney City Council, position 6, City of Cheney in the 2019 Washington General Election, Nov. 5

City: Cheney, WA

Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Oklahoma City University. 

Work Experience: Has background in construction including assisting the city of Simi Valley, California, and Spokane with housing rehabilitation programs for around 20 years. Member of the International Conference of Building Officials (now the Universal Building Officials), vice president of a chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.

Political Experience: Appointed to the Cheney City Council in 2011, elected to the council in 2011 and 2015. Served as parks board commissioner for three years before joining the city council. Has served on the Spokane County Growth Management Steering Committee of Elected Officials since 2012. Served on Spokane Transit Authority Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017, served on all four council committees and is currently the chairwoman of the general government committee. 

Family: Widow. She has one daughter and two grandchildren.
