Steve Anthony

Steve Anthony is one of six candidates vying for an open seat on the Post Falls City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 city election.

EDUCATION: 1970 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School. Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation management, University of Idaho, 1974. Master's degree, facility and sport management, University of Idaho, 1992.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: No previous runs for elective political office. Commissioner, Idaho Amateur Softball Association. Regional director, Amateur Softball Association. President, Idaho Parks & Recreation Association. Served on Avista Relicensing Board as Coeur d'Alene city representative; past board member, United Way, Special Olympics.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Parks and recreation director for the city of Coeur d'Alene until his retirement four years ago. Began as a recreation supervisor out of college, and moved up to recreation director, then parks and recreation director.

FAMILY: Married, five grown children, seven grandchildren

Bodman, 59, is among six candidates vying for an open seat on the Post Falls City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 city election.

EDUCATION: 1976 graduate of Rogers High School, Spokane. Attended Spokane Community College and North Idaho College; no degree. Various law enforcement training certificates.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Elected to three four-year terms on the Post Falls City Council, serving from 1998 to 2010. Ran unsuccessfully for Kootenai County sheriff in 2008, losing to Rocky Watson in the GOP primary; and in 2012, running as an independent.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Sheriff's deputy, Spokane County, for the past 16 years; currently assigned to the training unit. Previously was a Kootenai County sheriff's deputy for 13 years; and before that, a reserve police officer for the city of Spokane for four years.

FAMILY: Married for 31 years, four children, six grandchildren

Bob Flowers

EDUCATION: Graduate of Post Falls High School in 1975. Attended Boise State University; no degree.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Ran for Post Falls City Council in 2009, losing to Betty Henderson.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Project manager for Lundeen and Simonson, a business that involves grinding and polishing concrete. Former manager for Master Brand Cabinetry. Extensive work in construction trades, including remodeling and repairing cruise liners all over the country. Served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1976.

FAMILY: Married for 28 years, one daughter, two grandchildren

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: None

WORK EXPERIENCE: Has worked for Washington Trust Bank for five and a half years, currently working as a product specialist. Previously worked as a personal banker at Navy Federal Credit Union and Citibank. Holds investment security license, to handle mutual funds, annuities, life and health insurance.

Richard "Rick" Whitehead

Richard "Rick" Whitehead is one of six candidates vying for an open seat on the Post Falls City Council in the Nov. 7, 2017 city election.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, criminal justice and public administration, Midwestern University, Wichita Falls, Texas, 2010; graduate of Ozark High School, Ozark, Mo., 1977. Served three years in the Army as a military police officer, 1977-1980.

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: First run for political office. Former board member and president of sheriff's association, and regional director for statewide law enforcement association in Texas.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Police officer and field trainer, Baytown Police Department, Texas, from 1980 to 1985. Travis County Sheriff's Office, 1986 to 2010, starting as deputy and retiring as commander.

FAMILY: Married, three children, four grandchildren

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: None

WORK EXPERIENCE: Finance manager at Dave Smith Automotive for nine years. Co-owner of family business, Bob's 21 Club in Post Falls. Holds real estate license in Idaho and Washington. Author, "Bobby Convict," a memoir about his early life of crime and subsequent turnaround after serving 16 years in prison on drug charges.

FAMILY: Divorced, one son and one daughter.
