POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: Elected to three four-year terms on the Post Falls City Council, serving from 1998 to 2010. Ran unsuccessfully for Kootenai County sheriff in 2008, losing to Rocky Watson in the GOP primary; and in 2012, running as an independent.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Sheriff's deputy, Spokane County, for the past 16 years; currently assigned to the training unit. Previously was a Kootenai County sheriff's deputy for 13 years; and before that, a reserve police officer for the city of Spokane for four years.
FAMILY: Married for 31 years, four children, six grandchildren
