About The Race

This is a nonpartisan race for the board that oversees North Idaho College. Zone 3 covers Post Falls. Todd Banducci, who works in the investments and insurance industry, is seeking a second four-year term. His challenger is Greg Gfeller, an administrator at Avista Utilities.

Todd Banducci, who lives just outside Post Falls, said his goal remains to represent the entire county and remain accessible to students, faculty, staff and residents. “I will continue working hard to avoid tax and tuition increases while budgeting for responsible growth,” he said. “Four years ago I saw the desperate need to upgrade the Career and Technical Education program and came out strong to support the new facility – particularly voting to place it next to the Kootenai Technical Education Campus in Rathdrum and not at the Coeur d’Alene campus.” He also is the board liaison for a proposed joint-use facility with the University of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State College.

Greg Gfeller of Post Falls said he would help NIC partner with others “to create a thriving economy that provides better paying jobs for our citizens.” If elected, he would bring 38 years of business experience and community service to the position “as the board works with the employees, students, and the larger community to provide quality education for the academic, career technical, and workforce training programs as well as recognizing the need to adjust to an ever changing economy.”

Kootenai County sheriff re-elected, Bingham will join board of commissioners

Kootenai County Sheriff Ben Wolfinger appeared poised to win re-election Tuesday as he jumped to a big lead in early results over challenger Tina Kunishige of Coeur d’Alene. Wolfinger had 79 percent of the vote in the first returns released late Tuesday night.

Wood: Baffled by Banducci behavior

In responding to a letter to the Coeur d’Alene Press, NIC Trustee Christie Wood comments on fellow Trustee Todd Banducci, who is seeking re-election: “I remember asking him one time why he behaves like that and if he has any desire to get along with the rest of the board. He said politics are bloodsport and that is the bottom line. Hmmm.”
