Consent decree between EPA, conservation groups over PCBs in Spokane River

U.S. District Court Judge Barbara Rothstein signed this order on Feb. 11, 2022, setting in place a September 2024 deadline for the Environmental Protection Agency to establish a total maximum daily load (TMDL) for polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs, chemicals linked to cancer that have been detected in the Spokane River.
