The Age of Impressionism

March 19, 2025 - March 19, 2025

Visit Impressionism with a more in-depth two-part series with Tom Quinn. Around the time of our Civil War, a revolution in painting took place in Paris. We show slides of the work of the great Impressionist artists, Degas, Manet, Monet, Morisot, Pissarro, and Renoir. We will also show the work of the academic French artists they supplanted, like Bonheur, Bouguereau, Gérôme, and Meissonier, and move on to the American school of Impressionism, led by Cassatt, Chase, and Hassam. Pre-registration is required.
