The Vox Box

(Free!) Food News of the Week…

November 4th isn't just the day for choosing our Nation's Leader - it's also a day of free dessert...

Krispy Kreme is rewarding voters with a free 'America-inspired' donut, complete in star shape and rocking red, white, and blue sprinkles. Dropping in to the store wearing an "I Voted" sticker is your fast ticket to a free pastry. (Very patriotic...very delicious...)

*Ice cream geniuses* Ben & Jerry's is also joining the 'Election Day' celebration by rewarding customers with a free scoop of ice cream this Tuesday at their stores.

"Originally, we planned to give free scoops away just to those who voted. We found out afterwords that certain laws may not allow it. So instead we're celebrating our election with a national party," said Walt Fresse, Cheif Euphoria Officer of Ben & Jerry's. The theme of the event?: "Democracy never tasted so sweet!"

Drop by from 5 to 8 pm to get your free frozen treat.

man...now I really wish I could vote...

Is anyone going to hit up these free voter-rewards?

In 2006, then-editor Steve Smith of The Spokesman-Review had the idea of starting a publication for an often forgotten audience: teenagers. The Vox Box was a continuation of the Vox, an all-student staffed newspaper published by The Spokesman-Review. High school student journalists who staffed the Vox made all content decisions as they learn about the trade of journalism. This blog's mission was to give students an opportunity to publish their voices. The Vox Box and the Vox wrapped up in June 2009, but you can follow former staffers' new blog at http://voxxiez.blogspot.com.
