State troopers on lookout for drivers who camp in left lane
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – State troopers are on the lookout to stop drivers who park in the left lane of highway for long periods of time.
The Washington State Patrol says the left lane is designed for passing and that it can be illegal for motorists to camp out in the left lane.
The special statewide emphasis that began Wednesday runs through Friday. Troopers will focus on stopping left lane campers, a major pet peeve of drivers.
Last year, the Washington State Patrol stopped 13,909 left lane law violators.
