Elephant bikes: Built in Spokane
To the naysayers who say there's nay bikes in Spokane, know this: Not only are there bikes, but there is also a dude who builds bikes in Spokane.
His name is Glen Copus. He's a welder. His bikes are steel. And Copus is the man behind Elephant Bikes.
For years, Copus has been building custom bikes for the Spokane community, and beyond. Recently, however, he launched the company's first production bike, the National Forest Explorer.
Last year, Out There Monthly wrote a small profile on Copus and the NFE, as people call it. Here's their explanation why the bike is PERFECT for riding through national forests:
What kind of ride is a national forest ride? They are characterized by long days, fast riding on rough surfaces, lots of climbing, sketchy descents, and doing this while carrying a small load of food, water, supplies, and emergency camping gear.
And here's a not very informational, but super great video about Elephant.
So, yes, there are people on bikes built in Spokane in Spokane. Nay that, sayers.
