Too Many Cooks

Bananas. Blueberries. Lavender. Purslane.

Bananas. Blueberries. Lavender. Purslane.

The next two Spokesman-Review Food sections are chock full of good eats.

Look for Oma’s Banana Pancakes in Wednesday’s “In the Kitchen with” centerpiece, which spotlights a longtime favorite but fairly simple recipe from Spokane grandmother Shelly Kuney.

July 22, correspondent and caterer Sylvia Fountaine offers an ode to beautiful blueberries in her monthly “Seasonal Kitchen” feature. She shares several diverse recipes, including one that has only two ingredients.

Also in the coming couple of weeks, look for lavender-infused lemonade and purslane quesdillas and tzatziki in the new, summertime “Jut Picked” feature – along with food-related tidbits in the regular weekly Fresh Sheet column.

Cheers to the abundance of summer!
