Take a trip to Asia without leaving home
When she’s in a cooking rut, Sylvia Fountaine likes to do what she calls “taking a quick trip to Asia.”
It doesn’t involve a long flight or lots of money. Instead, it includes taking a trip to her favorite local Asian markets.
Fountaine explores a few of them in the next Spokesman-Review Food section. She also shares some of her favorite Asian-inspired recipes.
Allan Karl is heading off to Asian at the end of the month. Next week, the cookbook author and adventurer shares recipes from some of the countries he visited during an around-the-world, solo motorcycle trip.
He visited 35 countries on five continents and rode more than 62,000 miles during the three-year trip. This month, he’s slated to continue his adventures in Vietnam and China, where his motorcycle awaits.
