The Hotel Spokane

The building disappeared in Spokane, but if you're old enough to remember it, there are some great stories to be told about the Hotel Spokane. The place was gigantic for the time it was built, 1890, and had one of Spokane's most popular restaurants, The Silver Grill. Celebrities, local business people, celebrating families and groups from clubs met there to eat.  The Silver Grill was famous for it's roast beef, originally cooked over an open fireplace in the dining room itself. Monday's (2/29) Then and Now is about the giant hotel that was Spokane's grandest before the Davenport Hotel. Check out the Facebook page with photos from the hotel's Silver Grill, one of the longest lasting restaurants in Spokane history. If the link doesn't work here, try searching Hotel Spokane Silver Grill on Facebook.
