Newman Lake, once a resort destination, now mostly private
This week's Then and Now column is about Newman Lake, a small lake nestled in the hills of northeast Spokane County. There have been settlers there since the 1870s, but it became a destination in the first half of the 20th century with small hotels and resorts lining the shoreline. Today, it is mostly private.

A couple of years ago I looked for some sign Muzzy's once existed yet found nothing, not even an old foundation."
