Zags, Cougars close regular season

Gonzaga takes on BYU tonight in the Marriott Center with a lot on the line for both teams. The Zags can finish first or second in the WCC standings and anywhere from first to third in seeding for the WCC tournament. BYU can finish first, second or third. Saint Mary's lowest possible seeding for the tourney is No. 2.

A win gives the Zags a share of the WCC title, which would mark their fourth straight after their run of 11 was broken by Saint Mary's in 2012. BYU is chasing its first WCC crown since joining the conference five years ago but needs a win and a Saint Mary's loss to USF.

Gonzaga has lost on its last two Senior Nights, to Saint Mary's last week and to BYU last season. The Zags have a chance to return the favor tonight on BYU's Senior Night.

My preview and another here. Here's a look at BYU senior Chase Fischer and a Salt Lake Tribune column on the Cougars "always pretty good" program.
