Morning links: Looking forward and backward

Mondays are always kind of nebulous.

Monday is the day the Cougars hold their weekly press conference, meaning it’s the first chance we reporters have to chat with Mike Leach and players (three of them) since immediately after a game. By necessity, we have to both deconstruct the previous weekend's game and look ahead to the next one.

So, our notebook in today's paper has both Portland State and Rutgers-themed nuggets to chew on. We also have our First Look at the Scarlet Knights. On the blog we have game notes, a video and transcription from Leach's time at the podium and a preview for an Elson Floyd tribute that aired on the Pac-12 Networks last night.

-- WSU is one of a few Pac-12 schools covered in Grantland's College Football Week 1 Wrap.

-- The Seattle Times poll asks who should start at QB for the Cougars on Saturday.

-- Mike Leach gets a thumbs down from Ken Goe.

-- Jeff Nusser reacts to WSU's loss.
