Following up on Eastern’s big win

After a day off I'm back on the links, and I don't mean golf. Who has the time, what with Eastern Washington football still making news after the big win over Oregon State? In case you missed it, here's Monday's follow-up story, and this morning's piece on the awards pouring in for quarterback Vernon Adams. And this just in: Eastern has moved up two spots, to second, in the weekly FCS poll. How are the Eastern players reacting to all of this? I'll try to find out this afternoon at practice; then we can talk about it Thursday during our weekly live chat. Now, on with the links.

Next up for the Eagles is Saturday's home opener with Division II Western Oregon. Here's a link to the Wolves' web site. After that it's Toledo, which played respectably on defense at Florida last weekend but struggled to move the ball. .... Sam Houston State had no such problems, nor did Weber State in a shootout win over Stephen F. Austin. ... From the Missoulian, here's a followup on the Grizzlies' stingy defense against Appalachian State.
