Final sprint in race for fourth place
The Spokane Chiefs' regular season is down to four games in six days, including tonight's game at the Arena against Prince George. The Chiefs already know that they'll play the Tri-City Americans to open the Western Hockey League playoffs next week, but they are attempting to take the No. 4 seed and home-ice advantage away from the Ams. Both teams enter tonight with 84 points. Tri-City is playing at Seattle. The Ams will travel to Spokane on Friday night and host the Chiefs on Saturday night. Spokane is 2-1 against Prince George this season but hasn't played the Cougars since late October. The Cougars still have a big goal in mind: They are four points behind idle Everett for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Game time is 20 minutes away.
