This Gretzky’s goal is the World Series

The Spokane Indians and Boise Hawks were scheduled to begin a five-game Northwest League series Thursday night at Avista Stadium. Persistent rain and cold weather forced the Indians to call for a postponement about 3 hours before the 6:30 start. The Hawks made their way to Spokane Falls Community College to take a few swings in the indoor batting cage. Boise first baseman/outfielder Trevor Gretzky, son of NHL great Wayne, sat and chatted for about 10 minutes before starting his workout. Trevor has always been a baseball guy and said his father also has a great love for the game. Boise and Spokane are scheduled to play at 6:30 Friday night, weather permitting, and make up Thursday's game as part of a Saturday doubleheader that will start at 5:30. Both games will be seven innings. Read story
