COUGARS

FROM PULLMAN -- Monday was a relatively quiet day on the Palouse, in that there were no football coaching rumors to tend to. But we did spend some time on the basketball side of things, so read on for a bit more on that.

...

We'll start by linking our post with the WSU athletics video of Ken Bone's press conference. Not much to report from that, other than the fact that the swelling in DaVonte Lacy's left knee still hasn't decreased enough for doctors to definitively evaluate him. Other than Lacy, Bone said, everyone else is practicing (Royce Woolridge (back), Dexter Kernich-Drew (ankle) and Will DiIorio (wrist) had all dealt with minor injuries but none has missed any game time). ... We also have this post with information regarding the All Pac-12 teams, which were announced yesterday. And because I've received questions about it, I'll note that a Pac-12 spokesperson said the honorable mention lists include players who were nominated by their coaches but didn't receive enough first or second-team votes, as well as players who weren't necessarily nominated but received votes for first or second team. Pac-12 coaches voted on first and second teams. ... Howie Stalwick attended WSU's weekly booster luncheon in Spokane yesterday, during which Mike Leach again said he's not going anywhere.

Around the Pac-12 ... Is this the year Chip Kelly leaves Oregon? ... Oregon State would be happy with either the Alamo or Holiday Bowl (San Antonio vs. San Diego? Win-win, as far as I'm concerned). ... USC didn't hold up its end of the California bargain this year. ... UCLA needs to finish what Jim Mora has started. ... Washington is likely headed to the Las Vegas Bowl, which would make a few people I know very happy. But wait -- Arizona might end up there, too. ... David Shaw repeated as Pac-12 Coach of the Year. His Stanford team gets an A-plus for its win over UCLA. ... Arizona State's big defensive tackle won the Pac-12's top defensive honor yesterday. ... Colorado's next football hire will be a crucial one.

All for now.
