Eagles bounce back from Sac State loss
Eastern Washington, in dire need of a Big Sky Conference basketball win following last Saturday's disappointing road loss to Sacramento State, got one Thursday night at Reese Court, using Tremayne Johnson's 20-point scoring outburst to thump Portland State 65-51.
I've included links to related stories below, but I also feel the need to commend PSU coach Tyler Geving for not turning the game into a foul fest in the final five minutes. Geving, with his Vikings trailing 59-42 with 5:02 left on the clock, could have started hacking away in desperation and sending the Eagles to the foul line, but opted to let the game play out, which made it much more enjoyable to watch than a free-throw contest.
The link to my game story that ran in Friday morning's S-R can be found here, and the game story posted by EWU's sports information department can be found here. In addition, I've included this link to what Portland State's sports info folks posted about the game.
