Vandals hold off Eastern Oregon

Idaho opened its season with a 86-74 win over NAIA foe Eastern Oregon at Memorial Gym on Saturday night. Newcomer Djim Bandoumel and Shawn Henderson each had 14 points to lead the Vandals, who had a few tense moments in the last 8 minutes while trying to fend off the Mountaineers.

Idaho takes a big step up in competition on Tuesday when it meets Palouse rival Washington State at 7 p.m. in Pullman.
