Hardware haul at state cross country

Once again Spokane area runners were outstanding at the state cross country meet.

There were eight team trophies for the boys, highlighted by championships for North Central (the Indians fifth straight) and Lakeside, and five for the girls, with Riverside winning 1A.

As for individuals, Greater Spokane League runners were 1-2 in 4A (Lewis and Clark's Kenji Bierig/Mead's Andrew Gardner) and 3A (Shadle Park's Nathan Weitz/NC's Vince Hamilton) and second in 3A (NC's Katie Knight) and B girls (Colfax's Morgan Willson) and third in 2A (Cheney's Sanne Holland) and 1A (Riverside's Jess Mildes).

Here is the boys story and the girls story.
